Hello Everyone!!:)
It might seem silly to you'll but I am a bit worried!!:ashamed:

One of my friends recently purchased an AntecSLK3000B!!
Its a Nov2005 thing/ embossed on rear of front door!!
He is happy with his cabby coz it lowered Temps in his Intel rig!!:)

But i have a Doubt about its Quality!!:(

I have a SLK3700AMB!!
Though purchased in Nov2005, rear door mentions Oct2004!!

My side panel, upon removal, is Quite heavy and doesn't flex or anything!!
But his is lighter and Flexes and rattles like a tin sheet!! More like an iBall Grabit sidepanel!!:S :(

I used to think my Bezel and door is flimsy and used to be careful while opening it!!
His is Flimsier:S , so much so that i am quite at ease with mine now!!:(

Even the panel locking mech is diff!! This one is spring push type while mine and 3000B, 3700BQE, 3800B in Antec website feature a push-pop lock!!:S :(

Is it that Antec is compromising quality to make it attractive pricewise in India??

OR Are fake Antecs available and my pal's happens to be one?? :(

OR is mine Fake?? :( Anish- you got 3700AMB!! Help!!:cool2:

Please enlighten me!!:cool2:
Those who have a 3000B( i think i saw one in someone's sig), please confirm this diff!!:cool2:

Unfortunately, Bikey atm is not in a position to head out and check other such models...so if anyone has a similar case, He/She is welcome to verify the same.

Well mine 2 reads Oct, 2004, but was bought in May 2005...

Rest looks fine, the front door build qualty is a bit cheap though, but side panel heavy n overall quality excellent.

I don't think any Antec fakes r there :)

Thank you very much- Rahul, Stormy, Goldie, Nik and XT!!:D
Please don't mind the shorthand!!

^Anish- Yup, the 3700AMB seems to have been discontinued and that grey didn't find many takers as people here prefer black!! But i kinda like it!!
The build quality of the cabby is excellent as far as metal and ease of use is concerned!!:ohyeah:
Its almost as big as the Performance TX models, the TXs being taller but mainly in the PSU compartment and that means no issues with 120mmHSF on Asus boards that have cpu socket at the top!! It is a bit wider too!!
The Removable hdd bay is a nice touch as i can unplug the HDDs and get all out at once to clean insides and front fan!!:P

As far as my cabby is concerned, it feels original!!:cool2:

But my pal's cabby quality has bugged me from day one!!
It also came in a simple brown box with Antec and Invent printed on the sides instead of usual coloured or extensively printed with specs box!!

Its got some 'For Xeon" or similar emboss on mobo panel and 'Antec Design' emboss on base, which are the only 2 things suggesting its original!!

So, if i compare it to my cabby, and hope its original, then there has been some real hanky panky in antec quality!!
Or, it might be a defect in the entire lot manufactured!!

I ran a search for 3000B in our forums and located Digen and Vandal, who own 3000B!!
Didn't search more!!
Have sent a PM to then to comment!!

I have an SLK3000B. build quality seems good to me. side panels are definitely not tin-like and dont rattle like you mentioned. and the front bezel seems to be good too. no problems on that front. cant chekc the date now as i'm in office.

Thank you spitefulpentium!!

When did you buy your case and what does the emboss at the rear of front door say??

But if you can confirm the type of side panel lock you have in your case, it will be much more helpful!!

Do you push the lock in the middle and the clip pops up!!

All pictures on Antec site have this mech, if one observes closely!!

Or Do you push with fingers on the spring loaded lock socket and just lift out the panel??

Though no reply yet from Vandal, Digen, i did my own hunting, that too on TE!!;)

I am surely one Paranoid *$$#0le!!:ohyeah: :ashamed:

Rig Gallery Features Spiteful's Rig Pics!!
Thank you very very much Spiteful for Those Pics in Rig Gallery!!:hap2:
Especially the last one,I think!!:)

The mechanism on your cabby and my pal's 3000B is Identical- the spring loaded push to open type!!
Its unlike the 3700AMB that me, Anish and Blade have!!
About the metal, you cannot say until you have checked out our 3700AMB personally!!:cool2:

Thank you very very much Spiteful Pentium and TE!!:hap2: :ohyeah:
