Hello friends.. I need your help as i want to purchase a wi-fi modem for my MTNL triband.
I have gone through many related threads but being a total noob it really didnt make much sense to me.
I will just list down some of my priorities.

1. want a router which has good speed(after reading, realised that N has more speed than G).
2. i want a router which can connect both my desktop(using a wired connection) and a laptop(using wi-fi).
3. I would be doing everything what i used to do from a wired router(like using as a download rig, 24x7, torrents etc).
4. my house is of 550 sq feet and there are around 3 walls between my room and the hall where i intend to use.

My max budget is 3k but a router which is <3k would be better.I intend to use it for long time so reliability should be there.
My laptop is: Dell XPS 16 - Price,Review,Specs in India
and it says Dell 1520 Wireless-N card. So i guess my lappy should be compatible with N router.

Also please specify a place from where it can be bought from mumbai in lamington road along with the price.
Thanks for reading this huge para...:-D

You should get a wireless N150 router (max speed of 150mbps) for around 1500rs. Look at Asus rt-n10. It also supports DD-WRT so you can install that firmware if you like.

thanks for ur reply..

i did see many people suggesting not to go for N150 one as it has max of only 150 mbps compared to N devices which has speeds upto 300mbps. Also this model ,as said by others, is not a proper N device.. thats all.

Any more suggestions... people suggest more of Asus/Belkin/netgear. All i want is a device which suffices my above needs and has good life.

If you want an inbuilt ADSL modem with a router at simple price and manageability, try Belkin N modem router. N will give you good speed between LAN systems but your net speed from MTNL will almost have no effect if u choose G or N.
