The following are my system specs:-

[1] AMD X4 955 BE - @ 3.2Ghz (stock)

[2] Gigabyte GA-MA-785-GMT-USB3 Motherboard

[3] Corsair VX 550

[4] Gskill Ripjaws (red) 4 GB (2x2) @1600Mhz + Gskill Sniper 8GB (4gbx2) @ 1600Mhz (will arrive on Monday thanks to PrimeABGB's kickarse deal)

[5] MSI 5850 Twin Frozr2

[6] Coolermaster Hyper TX-3 with 92mm Coolermaster Blademaster fan

The issue is I have 4 DIMM slots in my motherboard and the first DIMM Slot is pretty much unusable, thanks to my HSF which interferes in the installation of the memory module.

Can anyone (AMD users specifically) mention a good HSF which does not interfere with the installation of the memory modules in DIMM slots 1 and 2? I need something that is silent. I will not overclock my system. I have a maximum budget of Rs.1500 - Rs.2000 . Currently the only option I have is the AMD BE Stock HSF.

Interested because I have the same question as well. The snipers run at 1.2v vs the 1.5 of the ripjaws so not sure of the effects of running these together. I assume that means the snipers would also be pumped with 1.5v and wonder how it will handle that.

Silly question since I have neither the board nor the sink , is it not possible to install it turned 90 degrees so that the heatpipes don't touch the memory ?

Not on AMD motherboards you cannot swivel it by 90 degrees Sire, I've a Hyper 212+ and suffer from the same problem.

For the HSF query sunny Sire look at the Cooler Master Vortex series -- Vortex Plus - Cooler Master OR if you can increase your budget Noctua NH-C12P SE14 -- Noctua.at - sound-optimised premium components "Designed in Austria"!, they are on the principles of vertical layout, don't cool as well as a standard heat-pipe based design, but as long as you're not throttling the CPU-speeds to much they'll hold the temperatures fine.

^^ no, even if I turn the CM Hyper TX-3 HSF, its still not possible to install a memory module in the first slot especially a high performance memory module with a large heat spreader.

I could also go for the Scythe Katana 3. Anyone know any dealers/online shops selling it cheap?
