I have read horrid reviews about the Corsair Force 3 giving random BSOD problems... can anyone using it here shed more light on this.

Regarding the M4, it's not available on FK and it also isn't available locally.

It's a Sandforce controller, random BSODs are to be expected :P. The Agility 3 is also a Sandforce and will have the same issues. Stick to a Marvell controller if you want reliability (m4, vertex 4).

64GB 830 doesn't even seem worth considering for 7k! :O For another 700~1k you can pick up a 128GB Vertex 4 or M4.

Yeah, it is costly, but they say its most reliable out there with blazing fast speeds; that's why I said "If OP could afford...". My personal choice would be m4 though.

Depends on capacity.. the 64GB 830 is not blazing fast, its literally half the speed of the 128GB 830. So if you're spending that much you can get a 128GB version of the M4 which would easily walk all over the 64GB 830 in benchmarks and with more cells would easily be more reliable as well. Neither have firmware issues. P/E cycles for the IMFT chips shouldn't be too far behind the sammy ones. I picked up the 64GB 830 for ~4k INR (not in India), and IMHO I don't think its worth more than that. 830 prices in India are daylight robbery :P

I'm getting the Corsair Force 3 SATA III for 4.1k, think I'll pick it up. Reviews seem pretty solid on this one from so far what I've read.

True that, size matters a lot in SSDs.

PS: Indians are looted in most of the things :(

Hassles that are still better than those you might have to face with a disk crash/data loss in the future.
Get an M4.

Souptik, you have been in that situation before, remember? Get yourself a reliable drive to avoid any issues and possibly prevent a panic situation. I'd advise the M4 as well. Avoid the Sandforce controller based drives for now. Your Mushkin 60GB was a good example as to why you shouldn't be investing in another SF drive.

Yup, you made me remember that sordid morning waking to a sodding 'Boot Disk Error' bro. The day couldn't have been better, it was my blooming Birthday that very day!! I'll drop the idea of the Force 3 SATA III for now then. I'll try and see if I can source a M4 locally first. OTOH, the Mushkin has passed RMA and is back with Sudhir.
