I have that 1 cup maker as well as a Black and Decker 4 cup maker

Highly recommend you to get the Black Forest (or Dark Forest, always forget the name) coffee powder from CCD, or Morning Java from CCD..

The first has a smooth and deep taste while the second has a different perky taste to it..!

Welcome to the real coffee world, enjoy it 'black' it will taste weird at first but then you can't go back ;)

This thread is forcing me to convert to coffee. The Kapi that I've been havin since childhood made me a faithful tea drinker. Looks like I will give it a try!

Thanks for the link - bought one for office. You apply the code "HAPPYNEWYEAR" and get a discount of Rs. 200 on purchase over rs. 500 - so got it for 575  .

^^ Didn't received it yet. I'm using a similar coffee maker of larger capacity. It is good. The only gripe is the coffee is a bit on the warmer side rather rather that "hot" - need to put it on microwave for a few second.

It is similar to that - only thing is that the capacity is one cup.

I tried various coffee powders - at present using ground Coffee powder from Indian Coffee House, Chandni Chowk.

Buy a 100 rs heater, 50-100 rs tapeli(pot) and you are good to go.. I have always liked the nescafe with pure milk +littler water(you can buy the pouch of 1 rs etc), never liked the machine made coffee.. Alternatively buy a small gas cylinder with a separate gas stove. My recommendation would be to buy a small commercial HP/Indane 5 Liter gas cylinder(~1000/- cylinder+regulator+pipe out of which 500 rs will be refundable when you return the cylinder and regulator, 350/- for refilling) + one burner stove ~500. Don't buy the one where stove is attached to gas cylinder itself. You will have lots of things to do sometimes. Maagy@ 4:00 AM if you feeling hungry :)

Ehh didn't read all the posts. :) do post the review.

^^ Where is it in Chandni Chowk?

Are CCD Coffee Powders any Good???
Go to Chandni Metro station and ask anybody for Indian Coffee House. Coffee house coffee powder seems to be better than CCD Arabiccah to me. Though CCD has many varieties - I've not tried them all.

Your best bet will be to get some roasted coffee beans - grind them just before brewing coffee. Coffee house sells them. But if you have friends in South India ....:)

Received the one cup coffee maker today - very fast service - ordered on 13th and received on 15th. Very satisfied.

The coffee maker is good - nothing extra ordinary. Two negative points are:

i) You have to be careful while pouring water in the water tank. Using the cup as suggested by B&D is not convenient and may result in water spillage. Better use a bottle to pour water - just fill the water tank completely.

ii) This does not have any anti drip mechanism - so if you accidentally remove the cup while the coffee is still brewing it will result in coffee spillage.

But still it's VFM @ Rs 575 - specially with 2 years warranty :) .
