I am planning to buy a new TV for my parents this month. Here are my requirements.
1. Budget: 50-90k.
2. Viewing distance: 4 metres.
3. Sources/inputs such as HD DTH/consoles/stand-alone media players etc: SD DTH, stand alone media players, Wifi Direct.
4. Preference for plasma TV/LCD TV/LED-LCD TV: LED-LCD TV.
5. Preference for brands: Samsung/Sony/Panasonic.
6. Willing to purchase it from the grey market? No
7. Ambient lighting conditions of the room: Well lit during day, tube lights, 2 curtained windows
8. Any other feature you are looking for such as 3D support on the HDTV, DLNA capabilities etc.
This is the most important deciding factor for me.
Must have: Wifi direct/miracast, preferably built in wifi support. I plan to stream from tablets, laptop etc.
Good to have: 3D (my dad mentioned 3d), 3 or more HDMI and 2 or more USB ports, ease of use for parents (my mom plays Angry Birds in C7, so she will figure it out), Google TV support
Smart apps are not necessary because I will get a Android USB dongle once they become available.
I don't think my parents or I will be able to differentiate much in in picture quality, so that's not much of an issue.
Please recommend a good model.
