Please suggest a netbook within 20K

I am looking for a netbook for use during travelling. It will be sparingly used. Please suggest one.

The specifications are

  • What's your Budget? (e.g. >30K, not more than 50K etc.) 20-25K. Trying to keep it within 20K.
  • What will be your primary usage for the notebook be? (e.g. web surfing/office apps/Casual Gaming) Web surfing, light office work, voip, transferring photos, all during traveling. At home I use my desktop.
  • What size and weight considerations do you have? (e.g. Do you want a 17" desktop replacement or you want an ultraportable 12" or something in between) Ultraportable, 10 inch screen. Weight is important.
  • Any brand that you prefer, or any brand that you detest? (e.g some would prefer to stay away from Acer or Dell) Thinking between Acer AOD270 and HP mini 210, other suggestions are welcome
  • Any other considerations? (e.g Battery life; Widescreen/non-widescreen; Glossy/Matte screen etc.) Need 5-6 hrs or more battery life, Win 7 starter or more, 2 Gb ram
 
If u need a simple Lappy in low budget then go for Asus X43U price around 17k. It will full fill all ur needs descried..

I had one , the best VFM netbook period.
Fits your requirement perfectly. Search for great review on TE before buying any netbook.

Cannot go for the Asus X43U. Its large (14"), has freeDOS, and only 3 hrs battery. For a low budget laptop, the specs are very good, though. However, I require a netbook, a small size, low weight, high battery one with windos pre-instaled (do not want to spend extra on the OS).

Yaeh, I also thought of that. Its a very good vfm netbook, and is is already in my mind. However, I need to spend some 2500-5000 for the OS, and I guess its a little heavy.

Just asked at Vashi Plaza today, HP-DM1 4000 series costs 25990, due to fall in rupee price. Out of luck here, as my budget is limited.

Thanks. I am looking for a netbook within 20K budget, not a laptop (I have one, though old). Size and weight are important, as I envisage hiking with the netbook in my backpack.

I am curently looking for Acer Aspire AOD 270 netbook, priced 17500. Anybody have any idea about its performance, in comparison to Asus 1015PX, or HP Mini 210.
 
Thank you everybody. I have bought a Acer AOD 270 from Vijay Sales at 16990. Started using it, and it fits my purpose well.
