Guys please refer to this thread http://www.techenclave.com/operating-systems/automatic-shutdown-restart-please-help-132158/new/

Therefore i have decided to go for a 600w psu.
1.my max budget would be 5k. Not a penny more.

Yes the build should be compact too.I have corsair GS 600 in mind.If you have any other better product then kindly let me know.

This clause is restrictive, I suggest that you up your budget to ~6000/- to get a better deal.

The SMPS you can look at an consider for your set-up are as follows --

Seasonic S12II 620W ~4700/-

Seasonic a major OEM and retailer unleashed its line-up in India recently, entry level prices and great performance give these SMPS the edge, availability is restricted to Bombay and online stores. The after sales is iffy and a hit-and-miss affair in few metros.

Corsair TX V2 650W ~5600/- Corsair took an earlier design and revamped for the future, commonly available and excellent after sales courtesy Kaizen Infotech.

Cooler Master Silent Pro M600 ~6000/- a modular SMPS that overshoots your budget by quite a margin, commonly available all over India and Cooler Master is like the Maruti of old opening up the Indian enthusiast market to the world backed up with a solid after sales network.

Please keep the GS series out of the equation, it cannot hold a candle to any of the above SMPS's performance.

Hope this helps, Cheerio!!

Seasonic S12II-620 will be better buy as to Corsair GS 600, as It is 80+Bronze certified while Corsair 600GS is just 80+ certified. Newer version of Corsair 600GS is 80+ Bronze certified, however they might not yet be in stock in India as Corsair have upgraded their GS series PSU's just recently.
Only problem I have with my Seasonic S12II-620 is it's short cable length.

Yes the build should be compact too.
Do you means build of PSU or the whole rig? If it's whole rig, then will do fine with Seasonic. However you want extra long cables, you might dislike the Seasonic S12II-620. I have Corsair 450VX at home which has longer cables than Seasonic S12II-620. Longer cables do help in better cable management.

I would first suggest you make sure that it is the PSU that is the culprit. I agree that the PSU is not good but the problem might lie elsewhere. Did you do what I suggested? That being said, yes you should upgrade the PSU but if something else is causing the problems and you are short on cash, you might put yourself in a fix by buying the PSU without catching the culprit. Seasonic S12II 620 is more than enough for you and should hold up in case you upgrade in the future.SeaSonic S12II 620 < best deal right now.

ARGH why aren't my newlines showing up!!!

One more in the mix - Antec VP550. Good design by Delta.
If you extend your budget - Antec HCG620.

However I've not seen reassuring after sales support for either Seasonic or Antec.

ARGH why aren't my newlines showing up!!!
I had the same problem and used a different editor interface in the General Settings panel.

got seasonic. btw are there any good cpu coolers my temps hover around 45-55.

I think those are pretty okay temperatures. Which processor do you have and have you over-clocked the same?

More important, where are you based?

Description is in the first post.Btw now even in idle the cpu temps sometimes touch 75deg cel.Avg remains 65.:( i am in mumbai.

It seems after changing the smps the overall temps have increased.Actually due to short wire length i had to move the hdd to a congested place and its temp shot upto 54 from 38-50.:(

Do not panic, rearrange the cables and Re-TIM the processor before buying a third party heat-sink-fan.

If you are not sure how to ReTIM your processor follow these guides, Bit Tech.net and Tech PowerUP!.

Hope this helps. Cheerio!!
