For you bro the following rig should do ( prices are respective from Bangalore ):

AMD Phenom II 555 BE - 4.5K

GIGABYTE MA785GM UD2H - 5.5K ( USB 3.0 version is for 6K )

G Skill RipJaws 2 x 2GB Kit ( 1333MHz ) - 6K

ATI Radeon HD 5770 / 5850 - 9K or 15 K

NZXT Gamma - 2K

Corsair VX 450/550 W - 3K or 5K

This my shot rest is upto you Best Of Luck setting up your rig :)

@ALPHA17: For CPU i am stuck with 555BE or 945BE. How good are my chances of unlocking the 2 extra cores? Should i look at low cost 635 Quads?

Do i need to spend 2k extra for the G Skill RAMs? How good are Kingston ones?

Forgot to mention, I need a good HTPC cabby also... one on top of which i can keep my LCD monitor saving my desk space. Looking for low cost ones. Which brand should i look for? any idea on the same would help.

regards

neo

The risk of buying a 555 BE is that you might not be able to unlock the cores if you develop cold feet and will be stuck with a Dual Core or buying the Quad Core 945 is up to you :S

I have no experience with the Kingston DDR 3 so no comments but if you think they are good enough for your purpose go ahead :ohyeah:

Also I have no idea for a good HTPC cabinet but can only venture that reputable brands like Cooler Master and Antec demand a premium in this field so best of luck finding a good cabinet :)

i am still waiting for the suggestion of more people... :(

a friend said that amd six core is coming in couple of week's time.. retailing at 12k... should i go for it?

at the moment i will buy ATI Radeon HD 5770 and corsair vx 450... and buy the core components once amd 6 core is out...:) i feel the ddr3 rams prices too high at the moment... is corsair 450 vx enough for a 5770 card system with hex core?

cabby i finalize on the silverstone model sugo series... which retails for 4.5k.... will buy sometime this week...

regards

CPU: AMD Phenom II x2 555 BE/ x4 955 BE ~5k/8k
Motherboard: Gigabyte MA785GMT USB3 ~5.8k
RAM: G.skill 2x2GB 1600Mhz CL9 DDR3 ~6k
GPU: HD 5670 ~5k
Cabinet: NZXT Gamma(standard mid-tower) ~2k | Silverstone Sugo (micro ATX) ~6k
PSU: FSP Saga 350W ~1.5k
Controller: X360 Controller for Win. ~1.2k

If you do not want to take a chance, get the 955BE instead, although unlocking success rate with the 555 BE is very good.
For your current monitor, HD 5670 is more than enough, don't bother going higher. It also consumes an ultra low amount of power. When you move to a full HD display, upgrade both the GPU and the power supply(for now the FSP 350W will easily power your system).
Go with the Gamma instead of looking for an HTPC cabinet. At this budget you won't find anything small/thin enough to keep your monitor over it.

Total = around ~30k with the 955BE and the Gamma cabinet selections. If you go with the 555 BE, invest the remaining amount on a good CPU cooler.

Dude for the above I would like a small series of correction
won't recommend the G Skill 1600 MHz kit go for the 1333 MHZ kit due to following -- AMD Phenom II X4 810 and X3 720 BE Review - CPUs and Memory Reviews - TrustedReviews

Why make the cost increase by buying multiple PSU's now and later  if he wants midrange value might as well buy a FSP Blue Storm/Epsilon 500W or Cooler Master 460W :cool2:

Later can add up to a HD 5850 in luxury

Rest agree with you
COST ARE FROM BANGALORE
Price of PSU for FSP Blue Storm and CM 460W -- 3 to 3.5K
FSP Epsilon 500W -- 5K
G Skill 1333 MHz 4 GB Kit -- 6.5K ( where are u getting 1600 MHz kit for 6K  )
