Hello,

I would like to buy a new LCD to watch HD movies and casual gaming.

HDCP is needed

My budget is max 15k.

Please tell me a good model.
Which one is the best among TN (since IPS looks out of reach)

I would like it to have good color reproduction and no ghosting images or input lag.
thanks.

Seems you're a bit late.. :(

Appears that the Dell Ultrasharp 2208WFP is no more in stocks and the GO organiser in the forums reported its no more available nor is it being displayed in the DELL site..

In terms of the real estate, check out the Dell E228WFP; A very decent model; Specs here:
22â€Â Wide Flat Panel Monitor

Else check out the LG L226WTQ; Another decent model from LG; :)

Both can be had under 15k. :)
The 24inchers are out of ur budget, hence didn suggest the same.

LG L226WTQ is a good bet if u can get it from Tata Croma. Sells for around 13k or so

This lamer had a dell 22" got rid of it and got the LG 22" :P
the LG seems like a better panel

thanks to all.

1. what is the significance of tata chroma?
Is there an issue with other dealers?

2. How of a difference will an IPS panel really make?

3. If I manage to increase my budget upto 20k , do I have a decent monitor?

1.Chroma is just a know n dealer. You can get any place that suits you and gives a reasonable price.

2. Lotz from what most users and reviewers say..

3. If you increase budget to 20k you will get a

a. DellTM UltraSharpTM 2007FP 20" Flat Panel Monitor (S-IPS panel)

or

b. DellTM E248WFP 24" Widescreen Flat Panel Monitor (TN panel).

One has size the other a far superior panel. Take your pick

With a budget of 20k, You can settle for the Dell E248WFP, which's an entry level LCD that has FULL HD. :)

^^ Still more expensive than Dell. The only good thing about AOC is that they have a nice transparent onsite warranty service.

Guys,

Thanks a lot for the help.

This was for my friend and he has gone for an NEC 19" (not widescreen), due to some reasons he had to suddenly cut his budget.

He says that the quality is quite good (cost 10,200 /-)

are NEC's available in india :O
you could have gotten a 19" widescreen viewsonic for <10k :)

apparently he compared the 19" WS NEC with 19" normal LCD and found that non wide screen monitor was much better

The cost of non wide screen was also costlier by 1000/-
