Pls Help: Burning a PS2 game after patching

Hi,

I have Cricket 07 on PS2 and because EA doesn't have licenses for most teams, they've had to use fake player names.

Now, a patch is available which fixes the fake player names. This is available at the leading cricket gaming forum - Planet Cricket.

My problem is this: The instructions to complete the patch (available here) are limited up to the stage from where you need to assemble the ISO back together and burn it onto a DVD. This is so because the forum has very strict definitions of 'piracy', so while its OK to discuss how the game is patched, it is not OK to discuss how to burn it back on DVD since that would amount to being illegal.

I was hoping someone here would be able to throw more light on what I need to do. I've tried everything and have been frustratingly unsuccessful.

This is what I'm doing:
1. Patching the game as per given instructions
2. Create an ISO through Nero Burning ROM
3. Burn the ISO to the DVD media

I'm not sure if its the media I'm using which is the problem - I've tried Sony, HP, Imation - pretty much everything that's available. Still haven't been able to get my hands on Verbs or Maxells though.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hey, thanks for the patch! I'll be using it.

And here's how I burn my Ps2 gmaes :

Make sure you have your .ISO file ready, download IMGburn (imgburn.com), install the program. Insert a good DVD-R blank like Sony DVD-R (-R, NOT +R), open up IMGburn, MODE --> Write --> Click on the folder and select the ISO --> Write Speed LOWEST POSSIBLE (1x, 2x or 4x) --> Burn --> Play!

And you have a modded Ps2...right?

Yes, I do.

Thanks for the instructions. I've used IMGBurn as well though and it still burns only coasters, and am using Sony DVD-Rs.

I heard somewhere that the ISO has to be 'reconstructed' in the same order as it was originally unzipped. What's that about, do you know? I get the feeling that its in the 'putting together' of the ISO that I'm screwing up.

Maybe once you've been able to successfuly use the patch, you could come back and gimme idiot-proof instructions :)

Cheers

Okay, but first I'll need to get myself a copy of cricket 2007.

Meanwhile, some Pro's at Afterdawn forums can help you out, check out there Burning section for Ps2 and explain them your problem : AfterDawn.com: Forums - There's many tutorials on re-building Ps2 game ISO's there too.

I think the problem is in re-construction of the ISO file itself. Handling ISO's is nasty, I got into it once trying to get my pirated Ps2 games online :P
