Look, You cannot go around controlling every single aspect of the forums. You just cant do that.
How many of you think we will even remember this after 15 days. Humans are great at forgetting stuff
You think what happened yesterday will stop something like this happening again? Well think again because something like this has happened in the past too.
Once this blows over we will be back to usual. But yeah. Do keep in mind that whatever you type is your responsibility. Even if its PM or IM or email it is coming from you and once its out you cannot control it. Its like a bullet fired from a gun.
So you should be mature enough to know how to communicate online, be it public or private. Because each word you say is your word.
Its same in real life. If you go nuts about someone, that person can and will find out eventually. So just restrain yourself from name calling. Its not that difficult to do.
And ya I will not vote. As my option is not there
Also I hate the kind of politics thats being played on TE these days. The guys involved know what I am talking about. TE is not the platform for you guys to fight.

too much policing will lead to more complications.
i am in favour of keeping pms private, but if someone misbehaves there is always an option of report the post button by the concerned parties and also by general members.
so let the system be as it is now, and deal with matters case by case basis.

Private Messages should be kept Private...
And this is more of an personal ethics thing rather than something you can enforce....
There is no point creating a rule for this..People should be mature enough to keep private messsages private
And if they can't, shame unto them....but no point creating a rule to enforce this....
