PMP for watching TV Shows for <10K

Need to evaluate the options available under 10K for a PMP. Will be using PL30/EP630 with it.

Primary usage is watching TV shows (widescreen preferred but not mandatory). Playing music would be secondary. Need a good screen (better resolution than 320*240 if possible - my cell too can play 320.240 otherwise!).

8Gb is more than enough for me (can easily save 1 season + music on it).
 
If you do not want it to be too compact, then a PSP will do decently for videos and it has other uses as well. However its a lousy music player.

Alternatively COWON S9 is also an option if you can go 1k over your current budget.
 
What's the inbuilt storage capacity for PSP? And can I play any movie (avi/xvid) on it? How do I transfer the movie on the PSP? Does it need any unlocking?
 
Samsung Star is a good option @ 9.5K. it supports upto 8 GB memory card. You can check out my review for it in the reviews section. It plays MP4's well at high quality

You will need to buy a Memory Stick for PSP, but I guess the total would still be near the 10k mark if you go for a 8GB Memory stick. Also you will need re-encoding for PSP, (MP4 at 480 x 272) I don't know of any player under 10k that that will play your your typical XVID/AVI file without re-encoding to supported format. If you want to be able to do that, then I suggest that you spend the extra for COWON S9.

If I remember right, someone on TE bought the 8GB version of S9 for 11k odd
