I sold my PNY GeForce 8800GTS 640MB GDDR3 PCI-E Graphics Card with Zerotherm Hurricane to TE member "thebanik" on 16th June for Rs. 3000 & got the payment on 17th June.

Note I did not mention a testing warranty.

I shipped it on 21st June & on 24th June tracking showed it was delivered when I checked at around 9:15am.

So I message him on Gtalk at 9:16am asking "you got it?"

He did not reply so I message him on Gtalk again at 11:50am asking "dtdc showing delivered u got it?"

Again no reply so I give up.

Now today from 10:30am (25hrs after delivery) we have the following e-mail chats :

All fine till now but after his reply at 1:53pm he goes on & posts on TE at 1:57pm saying "Udit, the card is not working. Not giving any display with any of the DVI ports. Will test out again on a different motherboard, but I have 10's of other cards which are working on my primary motherboard."

Now I ask why post on TE if I'm cooperative on gmail/gtalk?

Also I had last used the card on 30th April, 2011 & it was okay (3 of my friends saw)

Anyways now whenever I ask a question he attacks me verbally saying "Do you think you are talking to some1 who is installing graphic card for the first time??"

He also said he will test it on a different motherboard tonight but has not updated me yet.

Now I know you guys think I'm a naggy PITA man but I'm not here to nag or have any fights/bad blood with anyone including "thebanik" trust me.

I just want to know that considering the above what should I do?

dont worry he's a trustful & understanding guy

and he'll surely find some way

no I did not sadly

Anything can happen to the card during the long trip from Kol to whereever the buyer is, I got a nice DOA drive thanks to another seller. He was rather ignorent and packed the drive very poorly thats another story lets forget it...now that the buyer claims that the card is dead all you can do is.. ask buyer to ship the card back to you and its found to be dead give him a refund. If not ask him to repay the shipping charge and send it back to him.

this is what I would do but here its totally up to you.

sounds perfect

Guyz...I can vouch for udit that the card was working...
Infact , i fitted the card in his rig and we even played crysis on it...[ when his 580 went for rma ]
So, there must have been some issue during the shipping....

Well i can vouch my life on the fact that the card wud have been shipped by udit in 100% working condition

the only 2 basic reasons for such conflicts could be

Issue while in transit (which is difficult cause im sure the packaging was right).

or

Something wrong was done while installing.

not blaming any of the two but ive shipped many gfx cards but never had any such issue of damage in transit.

the buyer should test it with another PSU/Mobo which is recomended and also check if the 12v rails of the PSU are at right levels with the card.

That was my office address, It got delivered, but a mail that I have a courier comes only next day, so I got it one day later. Tried after coming back home.

Basically it got delivered on 23rd June, I recieved it from office on 24th June, tested and replied back on 24th or 25th morning.

Sent you an email, and this is the reply I got.

How can I be sure you didn't overvolt & kill it?

As soon as I saw that mail, I posted on the thread. Then we had a email discussion, you seemed reasonable. But next day or something when I see my mail.

You were not cooperative and your I find your mail to be rude.

You are delaying too much for me to feel confident in refunding you.

Please update me fast.

I have a life, I dont get back home and start testing old cards. Infact I was so busy with office work last few days, that I didnt even visit BYOC, which is happening in Delhi. This card is one of the many I have for benchmarking, I have many dead cards, would never claim a dead card if I killed it. Also on air, you cannot kill a card that it doesnt even boot (untill and unless you physically mod it), which I guess you can easily check because if you do not know physically mod means soldering caps/resistors etc.

Now havent you been using this card for a long time??? Please tell me, how exactly do you overvolt it????

You were not cooperative and your mails were simply rude. Not 1, not 2, not 3 but 10-15 mails. I have a life, I dont get back home and start testing old cards. Already tested, not working, told you on email, never did you mention that you have started a thread as well. I told you I am buying the card because of the cooler. So if you want you can take a lesser loss by selling the cooler that is only if you have the stock cooler to put it back on. We can talk about the price on PM/email if interested.
