Can confirm.Built like a tank, dropped a few times, but still no noticable scratch to the phone.Getting 5+ hours sot with old PE 10+ rom.

It's an amazing phone agreed. But i can't use custom roms due to work profile. That's the reason I've upgraded and looking to sell mine.

Can your share which rom are you using?
Are there any problems in using data or camera?
The rom I am using in another phone have above issues.
Latest awaken os (android 13) im using, it will also work for work profile, for camera i use gcam parrot, if you are on telegram, i can send you link of their official group, which has rom and gcam camera apk

I first flashed Pixel OS A13. It had some bugs but that wasn't the dealbreaker for me. The vanilla pixel operating system was too basic for me. So I moved to Pixel Experience Plus A12. It was super smooth and steady. Plus version made it survivable for me. But Google f'd it through crooked play store update. It increased the battery drain. So then, I moved to an unofficial build of PE A13. Battery drain is okay but my dear god, it's ridden with way too many bugs.

Poco f1 is my current device from the past 2 years. It is an awesome device.
Using with havoc os.

Just replaced the battery in MI service center today. I wish to use this device as long as it works. I don't have a reason to replace it.

Many instagram sellers, amazon seller, local brick and mortar stores have recently selling Box packed Poco f1 devices at very good price. These devices have manufacturing date january 2020. (old stock/sealed/Brand new). i contemplating in buying one even though it is an 3 year old device and lacks 5G.

Custom rom availability is huge for this device.
Camera captures excellent photos. Gcam mods takes the photography power of this device to another level.
processor is incredibly fast yet power efficient.
Gaming is smooth and never heats to an uncomfortable level like other devices.

Except the screen top notch, i have no complaints. everything is perfect.
By using custom rom you can hide the notch.

In instagram it is available for lower price.
6gb ram 128gb rom for rs8500
8gb ram 256gb rom for rs10000

I am yet to find a good gcam mod for this one!
Using Parrot v1.3
Is there anything better?
Even I am seriously contemplating buying a spare unit.If there's a14 development, I really have no reason to replace it.
Did you know it supports hi res audio too?

Oh you are fortunate. All Mi service centers in my city said the battery has been discontinued and won't be stocked again.
Yes the battery is no longer in production after the year 2020.

The battery i replaced in service center was manufactured in february 2020.
Service engineer made a note of this to me in advance and asked for my approval.

The battery is working fine and holds charge superbly. Friend replaced with same old stock battery a month ago, it gives him SOT of 7 hours+ on awaken os.

Out of curiosity is any of you on your mid 30s with kids.
I used an F1 for almost 1.5 years with either PE, crdroid or RR. But gradually had to shift to an iPhone as I simply did not have the time to fix things when there was a bug in those roms. Sometime want to go back to a custom rom supported phone but don't have the time these days :(

Please tell me you are in your 20s

I don't think someone in their early 20s know what a custom ROM is.

But yes your concern is valid. Custom ROM industry is dying and developer are themselves to blame. Instead coming together as community, everybody's grandma and dogs have to develop their own custom roms. There's no quality control, no documentation nothing. You be on your own.

I have used custom ROM on every mobile in my house but this will be my last device I'll be flashing. This practice isn't sustainable. It actually makes sense to throw away exchange mobiles after 2-3 years and buy something latest.

Custom rom on XDA is a dying art now . Most custom roms on xda have either camera issues , battery issues or network issues . Not worth the effort any more in my personal opinion . I am a member of XDA since 2007/08 .Done all the flashing , been there and done that ...still saying this today . None of my phones run on custom roms anymore . I cannot see the need for it anymore .

I guess you guys are correct.Thing is I am addicted to Viper4android and although not directly, custom rom flashing is kinda related to rooting also, without which you cant have viper. You simply cant go back to regular sound after you have listened to your music through viper. In this day and age when using Bluetooth headphones and tws have become a force of habit, and even moderately expensive of those sound very average (OnePlus nord buds) viper is essential for audiophiles

The same is true for Redmi note 4. Unfortunately I replaced the broken screen from local shop to save 2k and that costed me to eventually buy a new phone due to touch issues. Camera was sh*t though but good for documents.

Was your friend able to get this battery at Mi service center? Or he sourced from outside?

I went to an Mi Service center and they said that Poco F1 spares don't come anymore to them.

I have one 8/256gb with slightly broken screen, doubt it will be taken in exchange. Can I install the pixel 1 rom on it just to use it as unlimited picture backup?
