i have a connection from IOL india online isp. it has been fine all this time but a few days back, they changed the login system from pppoe to a http login, so now instead of dialing the pppoe dialer, i have to goto 202.70.192.146 to login. the reason i am saying bad service is that if i ping the gateway with 8000 bytes b4 logging in its fine at 5 ms, but once i login and ping, the latencies are as high as btw 200 and 400ms at 8000 bytes. further if i am downloading a torrent, my pings at 8000 bytes are btw 800 and 1000 ms and sometimes even timed out, bbut once i stop the download or close utorrent, my latencies are back to btw 200 and 400ms.
what i am askin here, what is my isp upto, why all this stuff happening now and not from the time i am using the service?
oh, i forgot to mention, i am using the 512k ul plan and amidst all this my speeds never drop below 55k.
can someone help me understand whats going on?
