Port Forwarding through Beetel 220BX1 and Linksys WRT54G

Hi guys,

My home network is currently set up like this: Internet coming to Beetel 220BX1 (192.168.1.1) -> Linksys WRT54G (192.168.0.1) -> Desktop through Ethernet (192.168.1.12) and 2 Laptops via WiFi whose IP addresses are assigned by DHCP.

Now I need to port forward 60215 so that I can use it for utorrent on the Desktop PC. I've followed the guide here for the Beetel Modem and entered the port range under the Virtual Servers in the config page.

I am not sure how to continue from here. What would I need to do on the config page of the Linksys Router to open this port on my Desktop? Detailed explanations would be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

Are you using the modem on PPPoE mode? If you are, then you need to change this first. Configure your modem for Bridge mode and then use the WRT54G to connect to the internet. Then you can configure the port forwarding on the router. You can follow this guide for the configuration of the WRT54G:

Port Forwarding for the Linksys WRT54G

I don't want to use Bridge mode (that is the dial to connect mode right?). I have my mom and bro accessing the internet through wireless and I can't keep my computer on all the time for that.

Your computer won't need to be on all the time. When you configure the Beetel in bridge mode, the WRT54G will be setup to dial using PPPoE. Simpler connection that way. And you would only need to forward ports on the WRT54G. In your current scenario, you need to forward ports on both, the Beetel and the WRT54G.

oh wow... could you please elaborate step by step? this sounds like the solution.

ok... i managed to get this done... it works fine and i can port forward successfully. however, i CANNOT access my modem config page now.. is there any way to get that back?

You could change the IP of your router to something different from that of your modem and then check if you can access the setup page of the modem. Not too sure about this though. Never really had the need to do it. Can't check right now since I've switched to a Linksys WAG200G. Modem and router in one. Less wires to bother about!!!
