I need to buy a laptop urgently (next 10 days)

Budget is around 45k..

Thinking of > Acer Timeline 5830TG (1GB dedicated Graphics) (only i3 version available locally) - 38.5k

> and Aspire S3 (Intel HD 3000) (i3 version) - can get it for 45k

Which one should i go for?

Is Aspire S3 a good deal?

Aspire S3 is an ultrabook so comparing it directly with a regular laptop wouldn't be so fair. If you're needs are not GPU intensive, I'd say go for S3. HD3000 is more than fine for most of the tasks.

Easily. However, would suggest to get an Ivy Bridge if possible. And btw, use PS CS6 as it has openCL support.

well There is another option Acer 3830 TG: Same config as 5830 TG but a 13 incher and comes with 2nd Gen I5.

Costs around 43k in sp road,Bangalore.

It is pretty light for a notebook , well designed but not an ultrabook.

got the i5 timeline x..
