hello all,

i need to buy and carry a portable/handheld scanner for work soon. purpose is to scan documents (certificates), machinery manuals etc. with speed that my team has to do in a stipulated time-period. i guess portable scanners come only in the handheld form-factor? could anyone pls advise:

1. a portable scanner that'll be easy to carry in cabin-bag & won't invite much scrutiny or objection by airlines/immigration

2. will be suitable to scan the above-mentioned documents in crisp details and with good speed

3. is reasonably priced

4. can also be used to scan documents of sizes A3 or A2 (or even lower if possible, like for eg, drawing plans etc.), atleast A3

(the 4th point is not too necessary though, but will be good to have if the device has the capability)

TIA!

I have experience with these requirements. I have handled
Fujitsu ScanSnap iX100
and
imageFORMULA P-215II

Both can scan with various options and quality.
I would prefer Canon model though. It has a feeder if you want to scan a bunch of documents.

One issue I had was if you remode stapled pin and feed the documents for scanning, make sure it is not stuck with each other else couple of sheets wouldn't be scanned.
Also availability is an issue, since these are very old models.
