Hello Friends,

I need some good suggestion about Air Conditioner:

1. Is there any Wall Mountable/Portable AC? - My family lives on rent here at Bhopal, so can't break/nail the walls of rented house :P

2. The Room where we want to fit the AC is very small, so I need a good AC with LOWEST Possible budget 10K to 15K.

I know very less about AC, so help me please with some good details

Thanks and Regards

Unless you are looking at floor standing ACs which are very expensive, I guess the only option is to go for a split AC. The Panasonic Cube costs around 16K. Take the permission of your landlord to install the split AC. That seems to be the only option. Else, you'll have to be happy with an air cooler (which is ideal in places like yours and mine).

Can you please suggest me brands which manufactures great and budget split ACs
And Thanks a lot for your response - Much appreciated :)

As mentioned, the cheapest one comes surprisingly from Panasonic. The Cube costs no more than 16K (1 ton, I believe). Else, you can try Godrej also. My in-laws got one recently for 17.5k inclusive of stabilizer and installation charges. Go through the couple of threads on split ACs in the Consumer Electronics buying advice section.

First You wont get anything like this in India, at least I have not seen any such product here. You do get these these type of A/cs in UK and USA. Second why an A/c when you can get a similar effect by using an air-cooler. Mumbai weather does not permits us to an Air-Cooler, else would have always used that instead of an A/c and saved a lot of money.

Are air coolers really that good? Do you know any which allows you to adjust temperature? Even the best ones I've seen don't come close to a cheap AC.

LOL air-coolers cannot adjust temp. but they serve the purpose of bringing down the ambient Temp. We had Two huge ones installed at my native place for a room 50ft x 20ft and they can run off an inverter as well. Why would you need to set the Temp? We are not Lab-Humans that we cannot survive above or below a set temp.:bleh:

Nope, but we have certainly gotten accustomed to it :p
