POS transaction billed twice on credit card -HDFC

So, a Pos transaction made at a local supermarket recently has been debited twice on my hdfc card.. The card was swiped only once at the terminal and the transaction was successful at the first attempt.
Transaction was made on 1st jan. I happened to check the statement today and noticed 2 entries for the same transaction. Have called them up and raised a chargeback.
This was a newly upgraded card and this was the first time use with it on a POS (if that matters).
I wonder how could this happen when it was only swiped once.

Which card are you using for HDFC. Call the customer care number -card division and raise a complain.

its a diners card which uses the RUpay network . Have already called and made a complaint . They have said they will check . Not sure what that means

They will verify if double transaction took place at same time with same merchant and if found valid the charged amount will get credit in your a/c..
