I got a Nokia mobile phone as a gift and hence it doesn't have a bill. Is it possible to get a duplicate bill or invoice or something else just to get the warranty? The person who gave the gift is out and may not return very soon and also I don't think it'll be polite to call and ask him for the bill.
Is there something I can do to apply the warranty? The phone is still in sealed condition.

Download one of the bill templates for Office from Microsoft's site, fill it up and you are set. Nokia doesn't get to know about your purchase date unless you tell them. That's one really good thing :)

If I do that, shouldn't I have to put some shop name to shop where it was bought from or can I put any name and address?

Does Nokia give warranty by seeing the date on invoice or by checking the IMEI of the mobile phone?

The warranty is on the IMEI against proof of purchase. Moreover once the IMEI is registered in their system, the phone is enough.

You can create an invoice with eBay's logo. They are not going to call up eBay to find out if the bill is genuine. As per Nokia (and other manufacturers who require a bill to claim warranty), the invoice needs to mention the date of purchase along with the IMEI, other details are not as important.

No bill needed, just goto the Nokia service centre and ask for warranty details. If a bill is then needed, go ahead.

Better ask the one who gifted you for a bill, i really hate the fact when you get an expensive phone as a gift - the bill
