I get speeds varying between 20kbps to 120kbps on edge on the phone browser

averages around 40-50kbps most of the time though

i m getting around 29kbps in my mobile, is it the max speed support in my mobile or airtel has blocked the max DL and UL speed ?

is there anything i have to do to activate EDGE ?

^^ Nope you dont have to "activate" EDGE..It depends on whether there is an EDGE tower nearby.. Do u get an E sign instead of the normal G??
