Power consumption by AC for 200 sq ft area ?

what will be the power consumption by an air conditioner required to cool only 200 square ft area? and is it possible that it will work on dc supply as in cars and vehicles?

For a 200sft room you will need between 1.5 to 2 ton Ac and the power consumption would depend on the star rating of the Ac, you can find out the approx bill which you will generate on your energy suppliers site, as far as running on dc power, commercially available ones are designed for Ac power and can't be run on dc power, probably you would need to go for a dc to Ac converter type of setup

And AC in Cars don't work on DC supply.
