CPU/Mobo Power ON and Power Off Problem

Not sure whether to pst this here or the Peripherals section but here it is..
It's been just a month since I purchased the system and already I have had major issues..

The PC automatically Turns Off(No BSOD, no crash dump just poof) and then when i press the power button nothing happens..
This has started a few days back and is really getting on my nerves.

The first time I was just watching a movie and then suddenly the PC went dead..and repeatedly trying to power up the PC again had no results...

I thought it could be something related to insufficient power, SO , I unplugged the PSU and waited for a few minutes and tried again, but NOTHING...I pressed the power button for a few seconds to discharge any static charge(which has worked for many people having similar issues) but to no avail...

But the system started up fine the next morning before doing the irritating thing AGAIN after a few minutes...
Now I use the PC fearing when it will go DUD again...

Guys I need help here and i need it fast please...should i call up the corsair guys and ask for a replacement...coz I've tried reassembling and the thing happens at somepoint or the other...

I've figured out two possible reasons for it
PSU - VX550W(most likely)
Cabby - HAF 912

the thing is the light on the mouse is lit up all the time even if the PC won't start...So the PSU IS supplying power to the mobo right???

And I remember of having the same issue when I set up my rig...but it worked in few tries...

DAMN!!I'm so Pissed right now..

Most probably your PSU/mobo may be faulty.

Also, is the CPU heatsink installed firmly? Post your temps. if possible.

I had a P4 once which used to go poof while it was on. Heatsink was the culprit. The fan had some issue and thus CPU was over-heating.

It's either PSU or the mobo itself. Can't think of anything else...

Yup..the heatsink is properly fitted...The Temps are around 45 degrees at load with Prime95...

Could you tell me ways to confirm that the PSU or mobo is the issue.

i think its relating to mobo my friend has similar problems and he replaces the mobo after that every thing runs fine

Ok..any sure way of checking that it's the psu or mobo??
The system runs fine most of the time..so how is it that these parts are faulty?

I'm in serious shit here guys..please help me out with this..

I will call the distributors of the faulty product but first i have to be sure which it is..
I cannot demand a RMA for the mobo when I'm not sure about it..

for psu u can check it on ur friends pc

if psu runs fine then try

for mobo connect only ram, cpu, monitor to it and short the power pins on the mobo try to run this setup.

So, i checked my psu in my old pc and the fan was not working..i tried again with my new config and the psu was producing a buzz sound when i pressed the power button on the psu as well as the cabby..and the buzz is still there when the psu switch is turned on..
Then it's the psu definetly right?
Going to call corsair guys to see what can be done..
