Check their air flow, most of these fans rated at 45watt or less have small blades even though they may be 1200mm in length the blade width is small.
I have couple of 43 watt 5 star fan and unless one sits directly below them (at the max 1.5 feet away the fan blades edge i am not taking about height) they wont be effective.

There are the V models with a pretty high CMM of 270, which is on par with other 1400mm fans : http://superfan.in/specifications.html
For comparison, a Khaitan Hi-breeze is rated at 260 CMM : http://www.khaitan.com/inner_pro.php?id=69

There's one big problem with these fans - the centre hub is brightly illuminated. How will you sleep with something like that :D
It only illuminates when you change the speed with remote ;) But if you turn the fan off with the remote, without turning it off from the switch board, then the LED becomes a night-lamp & it'll remain so until you start the fan again or turn off the switch.

Just to clarify that I understand you - it illuminates only for a few seconds to show the speed and then the light turns off?
Correct. It lights up according to the speed you choose. I mean, if you choose 2, it blinks 2 times, then off.. if you choose 3, it blinks 3 times, then off.. and so on! :)

Came across this fan today while searching for a fan.
Super fan. Seems it requires just 35 watts to run.

It runs on brush less motor.

Edit: fans cost a lot. Rs3500 each.:s

Anyone using such a fan?
I've been using X1 model since last May. Ordered through their online store for 2.9k. Working great so far. About the wattage, Bijlibachao founder Abhishek has posted the video on his site & it does only use around 35w at its fastest speed which is 5. I've only needed to go up to 3 so far (which uses around 14w) but only in peak summer months.. rest of the year, 1 or 2 speed is sufficient.

Do you stay in a hilly place? My fan never runs below 4 throughout the year. Staying near sea and high humidity = hell in summer.

these 5 star rated fans have low RPMs... you are going to crib everytime you'll use it :D
heh, yeah good point. i don't think going energy efficient with these is not a good idea. Cooling & durability would rank higher for me.

Toofan

is what we've used for deades. In the hot months the fans are on non-stop. Never had a problem.

So the roof developed a leak in one room and water got into it. Repair cost is 2k. replacement with something else is 1.5k.

I'm going to get it repaired. Older stuff is repairable, New stuff has to be discarded.
