Power Scheme getting reset automatically

I am facing a strange problem. I have set the power scheme to Minimal Power Management for CnQ but when I shutdown the system and then boot the system I find The Power Scheme to be always on. I have set Bios alarm to wake up the system automatically. Is this causin problems?
 
what os are you using ? & do you have multiple logon accnt's.

this is registry workaround. this will work for current user goto : HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\PowerCfg - CurrentPowerPolicy = 3

if it's set to 3 make it to 4, see the list, reboot, see if gets reset again, if yes post back.

  • 0 = Home/Office Desk
  • 1 = Portable/Laptop
  • 2 = Presentation
  • 3 = Always On
  • 4 = Minimal Power Management
  • 5 = Max Battery

If you using xp sp2 or server 2003 there is command line utility powercfg which can do the job.
