i just brought a powercolor ati hd 4850.

but the card is highly unstable.

the screen gets blank and the system does not respond

for a short period and get an error message from ati.

I tried it in both XP and Vista Sp1.

I hav used Ati driver 9.5 and 8.5.

Waht is the problem with my system.

is it the power supply or graphics card or something else.

my system config is:

AMD X2 7750 BE

1 GB DDR2 800MHz Trancend * 2 (In Dual Channel)

Seagate 640GB Green Hdd

Zebronics Real Watts Pro 550W

Powercolor Ati hd 4850 512MB (stock speed)

Gigabyte MA78GM - US2H

Samsung DVD Writter

You have to check the card in a different system to isolate the cause. Seems like 2 options, card gone bad or PSU not good enough.

Ensure ur Card is fitted in firmly, the lock at the right side should have clicked in. Also have u connected the 6 pin power connector to the card?

I think ATI 4850 consumes lot of power and Zebronics 550W will not be enuff for ATI 4850..

Thats my opinion and i am noob

Wait for some more suggestions from experts :p..

I doubt it since I am running a Sapphire 4850 on my CM Real Power 450W. And it's fine.:)
It can be due to overheating or a faulty PSU.
Alex, check your card in some other system and see if it works fine or not.

Cooler Master real power 460 gives upto 550W:p
@Alexcochin Be more specific about the problem.Explain in detail.Your PSU is good enough for the current configuration.
