The first thing you will notice about this PSU is the packaging, which is simpley awesome. i am only going to preview this PSU as i don't have enough hardware to load this PSU  . It will take at least one dual core and 8 series card to load this PSU . anyways here are some photographs

Verdict
we can't load this PSU enuf without a load tester and they cost a lot :( .... anways i am trying get a load tester ..... if i will be able to get it i will post the review again.... anyways in my opinion this PSU is ready for anything u throw at it so, let me get a quad core and 8800GTX sli then i will test this again :P ..... lol

The thing is, no matter how good this PSU looks, it has got some really bad reviews. It does have two transformers but it has single output circuitry. This has not gone down well with enthusiasts. And in testing it struggled to deliver 850watt power.

But indeed nice prereview.

Its a BOX ?
Its a BAG ?
Its a Leather Briefcase ?
No, its a SMPS
No no, its a Monster

Dont just blindly go by one review.... The fact remains, none of our members here have anything to fully load this PSU. And if you cant load it then you cant pass a verdict on it.

Reviews that I had read for Asus Star Ice, were pathetic they all showed the cooler as one of the worst, even worse than Hyper 48, but I found it to be the other way around, my star Ice performed better than Hyper 6.

Asus Star Ice better than CM Hyper 6 ? Dont get me wrong but isnt that a bit hard to believe ?

Star Ice better than Hyper 6 . You seriously are one of a kind maxaxe :P. About this PSU... it burnt at 850W. The fact of the matter is that this psu is rated at 1.1kW at 25 degrees temps, which basically means its probably not more than 800 real watts.

Yeah I'm one of a kind coz I believe in doin and then believing and not the other way around. Most of the other guys here take reviews blindly. But I dont, If I can afford to do it, i'd rather do it myself. So, if you gotta complain, prove it and then complain. Ive tested not less than 8 odd CPU coolers head to head. So dont try to tell me about it. BTW, does ANYONE here has the setup to fully load the PSU? NO !! then keep your traps shut.

I guess with my limited knowledge I would safely trust opinions of people who know a lot more than maxaxe and then do...:)

I cant afford to buy things blindly and then do and believe...

@MaxAxe?? Do you want to suggest people go out and buy this psu when there are better options in same price range?
SO what noone has the PC here to load it. Its rated at 1.1kw. and it failed at optimal operating conditions to deliver it. And those tests were carried out by professionals and not some junkies.
Look at other PSUs, they have delivered their rated output.

People had similar reservations about Skyhawk 640. But when i wanted to say otherwise i proved it by testing and loading it and then i started recommending it to others.
How can you tell people to keep their traps(is it even a word??) shut when you cant prove otherwise. Noone has proven it can really deliver the rated output but many have proved it cant........
As far as cooler goes. even i still have starice. and it performed well. but not exceptionally well and the noise factor was main reason it got ramp from the reviewers. It couldnt cool better than other coolers with normal fan speeds. And i have gone through quiet a few coolers. And the current al cheapo asus crux is better than starice and 1/4th the weight and noise.

EDIT: coolers you have mentioned above are all shitty one's compared to even age old XP-90. no wonder starice is best amongst them.

Noone here is doubting this review or questioning this review. Just dont want anyone to go out and buy this psu thinking they are buying a quality 1.1kw power supply. Thats the motive.

Very Good Detailed Review Rahul.

I am enjoying this just like G80 thread.... thanks to our serious contender in TE - Entertainer of the Year - "MaxAxe" :D

^^^_____^^^

I Never said this is a review, but just blindly passing the buck on any hardware isnt my cup of tea, I gave the Star Ice example in the same context. Also, Ive never doubted the XP 90, it is still one of the best CPU coolers around, specially for single cores. And I do not agree to the comment that Asus Crux is better than Star Ice, agreed it has a better fan design but the overall cooler design is not as good. And yeah, you can always mod the star ice if you want lesser noise, I really liked what rahul has done to his star ice and was thinkin of doin something similar with mine. But it would ruin the overall look of my Car PC. But anyway, thats not what we are discussing here. And yeah "traps" is a word.

Out of box Crux did perform better M8. I first tried starice and then i went out and bought crux just to see how it performed. It costed me all 900 bucks. And it did cool my 6600@3.4ghz without trouble where starice was having trouble. Starice may be better design. But that does not make it good practical performer. Average joe here wont go and mod the starice. I have it naked running 90mm fan in dad's pc but you wont buy starice to do that when a cheaper cooler can match it.

When starice was launched it was xp90 era and that time it did cost same as XP-90. SO obviously it will get slammed by reviewers.

And noone here blindly dismissed this psu. Have you even seen the feedbacks of this psu on international forums. Ok you dont trust reviews but there are many end users like us pissed at this Tagan 1.1kw.

If you wana take chance on this psu and prove otherwise go ahead. Be our guest. I cant tell anyone to take that chance. There is no way i will every tell anyone to go for this PSU unless they rectify the problem.

Well the point is Maxaxe, instead of everyone fighting over here.WHy not just post load temps and idle temps of CM Hyper 6 and Asus Star Ice ?

That would be end of this issue isnt it ?

agreed you dont trust reviews.....good to know that but are you trying to suggest that all the reputed sites and forums doing excellent reviews are retards and are on crack while doing a review, hence the reviews shudnt be believed ?

If thats what you are trying to say then.....well i have nothing more to say.

^^ I am not suggesting that all reviews are bad, however believing every review blindly is not right, if the reviewer passes the buck on a product it may not be as bad as they project it, specially if it is just one review. But anyway, let it be. I'm not here to fight, but I hate it when people just pass the buck on just about anything like its just crap. And when I disagree, they have 1000 other things to discuss .................. You feel me ?

looks like things are getting little hot here .... chill guys ...... lol

thanks to everyone for appreciating the review ..... i tried my best .....

i will try to do it again if i get some good CPU and GPU ......

anyways best configuration to load it will be 8800GTX SLI and AMD FX7x series lol ..... which is quite impossible for me to buy ..... anyone feels like donating their 8 series :P

Next time do your study, we are not just passing the buck based on 1 review.
And those who tested it on load tester had shocking results where this PSU actually blew while pulling 768Watts.
iirc planet3dnow had a article online regarding this.
Its design itself is flawed. The inside pics of this PSU are available on dozen sites atleast. Study it if you want.
The switching section is same between the two transformers instead of separate circuit. The same filter circuit is used on output side for both transformers. This means its impossible for this design to deliver 1100 watts even in theory. Forget about practical result. thats whole other story.
