I'm actually not surprised about NFS (which is kinda crappy), but Crysis should have sold with all the hype EA/Crytek built up :P

poor NFS

I can understand why crysis is not selling well..

Thanks all the sites and forum>>> Crysis is struggling in most midrange system..and most of the serious buyer who will buy original games belongs that category..so if you cannot play the game well..who will bother to spend the 700 bucks..or may be the number of that audience is very less

i 2nd that

the thing is that crysis is just not struggling

it looks utter crap on low setting

feels like playin IGN 2 :P

and most gamers are of mid level category

so thats the other reason as well

and most mid levelers prefer "Ahem" version as they thing that those 700 bucks can easily fetch a 1gig ram or anything else

If a card comes(in non sli or crossfire) in the near future (hopefully) which can tame the appetite of crysis gastronomical power, they should bundle it with the graphic card.....FOR FREE!!! No matter what version or whoever made it-be in POV if it has to. Those bloody @#!@ game designers need to be spanked.

Fact remains that CryTek have made a sooper engine. What we really need to do is stop thinking about Crysis as a game(no need to buy it :P) and start appreciating the technical finesse involved in making something of this scale. Very rarely has it happened in the history of computers that there is a engine which has been able to bring even the most high-end rigs to their knees. Crysis looks beautiful. Its just a peek at whats going to be the future of graphics tech. sort of like a sighter. Wait and watch, a few years down the line we will actually end up playing stuff which is completely photo-realistic.

Appreciate it for what it is. and forgive it for trying to be what its not.

Why do the game makers have to do something wrong to mess up a series? I would say the last decent game in NFS was Most Wanted (Even that was nothing compared to UG or Porsche Unleashed) The last two parts are absolutely bad in my opinion.

And farcry was real good. So what do they do? Well make it ultra realistic, and ensure that not many get to play it in all its glory! This is where i really like valve. Not only do they make good games, they make sure that it scales well.

I just installed Crysis yesterday. I have a 8600 GT, and I could run it at Medium-High (except a couple of settings) detail. And at this Medium-High settings, it looked about as good if not better than COD4 did on my comp. Just because the highest setting cannot be played, we can't say they did not make it scalable.

So
Extrapolating from my experience, I can say

COD4-High Settings ~ Crysis Medium-High Settings
COD4-Very High Setting ~ Crysis High Setting
Crysis Very High Settings has no match with any other present games.

Liek our friends at Spinal Tap would say, it goes up to 11*.

I'm with stalker on this. Crysis is an interactive tech showcase. I remember just a few months back people were saying that the 8800GTS 640MB was overkill for the current generation of games and that there was no point in going for anything other than a 8800GTS 320MB and also questioning why nvidia needed to launch the G98..... well now we have a game that cannot be played smoothly with very high settings even on an Ultra SLI Setup.... so the "need" for the G98 series is born and the cycle continues..
