Hi guys, I would like to know the current price of the following :

7300GS/GT 7600GS/GT AND 8500GT.

I would also like to know which of the above chipsets(and which brand) is the best to go for at present....i read somewhere that 8500gt is not the best option and one should wait for a while be4 better DX10 cards are available for better prices....It that correct?.....
 
yep, but it all depends on how soon are u gonna upgrade

IMO, though get the 7900GS (9K) or the 7600GT (7K) (prefer the 7900GS)

u can always get a faster DX10 card later next year, when NV 9600 would have similar performance of 8800GTX at $200
 
^^ the cheapest one, IMO brand doesnt matter much in India, all of em have crappy after sales support anyways

on a serious note, some decent brands you should look out for are (in no particular order)

XFX

Leadtek

Sparkle

Zebronics

can't remember the name of others

the Sparkle ones are the cheapest along with one more brand name (cant recall) and are good builds so if u can source them, go for it

in the end, buy whichever one offers the cheapest price at 3years warranty
 
is it worth it to get a vid card sourced from the UK ? If possible tell me the best sites to buy hardware in UK...i have a cousin coming over in abt 15-20 days....
 
nope, not the UK maybe if he can source it from somewhere with Euros, yeah

but UK the pound costs way way much more and hence things are nearly as expensive there as in India
 
well u can get them in uk from scan.co.uk.........try out the prices ....... but after VAT addition , they seem a bit high for foreign prices
 
UK prices will always be higher in account for the pound

usually computer h/w that sells for say $300 in the US in €250 in the UK, thats 1.7 times the original cost
 
It depends, some of the parts can still work out cheaper than here in India. Got a ds3p from uk for 91pounds shipped(could have been less - payed for next day). And I think its much cheaper than ds3 here, and ds3p is not even available here.

btw got it from novatech. Try ebuyer.co.uk 7900gs are available for a bit less than 90pounds shipped (maybe you should opt for next day if your friend has less than a week, some times they are slow). But im not sure if the price diff is worth, you will be saving around 2k max.
