Another video game series is being eyed for a film adaptation franchise, this time the Prince of Persia games from Ubisoft. The game has taken off in recent years with at least 3 recent sequels and become a huge hit for Ubisoft. The series has been in discussion for a while with Disney, since Hollywood mogul Jerry Bruckheimer bought the rights in 2004. The Jim Hill Media blog talked about it briefly, stating that “in theory [Prince of Persia] will be Disney's big action-adventure release for the Summer of 2008.” Which afterwards “could then lead to a new hit series of movies for the studio.”

that's really gr88..would love to see a movie ..on prince of persia game series.

but i would like it more if it would be an animated kinda movie..like the animation in the games..!
 
Good god! Movies based on games already have a low success rate. A movie by Disney based on a game would have an even lower chance.
 
naah me waiting for it........would love it if it has all the eye candy with good gfx, specially on the big screen
 
Trust me man. Since Warrior within, the POP series have taken on a darker theme. Something that Disney is absolutely inept at emulating. They'd just water it down and make it as kiddy, silly, bland and family friendly as you can possibly imagine.

LOL.. Instead of Godsmack, we'll have the chipmunks singing in the background..
 
this movie could actually work but it would be made for kids!:(

they should make a violent more adult movie, it would be awesome!
 
ppl........aren't u all forgetting tht Jerry Bruckheimer is producing it i am sure it will have some amazing action in it.......
 
i knw guys cmon its JERRY Bruckheimer.. all he does is make big budget ACTION MOVies... cant wait what he does with this one...

wonder wholl get casted as the role of the PRINCE?? any guesses???
 
Pirates of the Caribbean was a Disney movie too & don't say it did not have good action or had the chipmunks singing in the background :P
 
Doom was horrible, and the only thing Tomb Raider had going for it was Angelina Jolie.

I won't expect much here :/

Way back when the project was first mooted the name being thrown around most was Johnny Depp.. More interesting would be to know who gets casted as the princess :P
