Hey guys lost my old Deskjet, need an all-in-one replacement from HP [preferable], other options are welcome too.

Budget is 6000/- [tops], usage is moderate printing -- documents [both in color and black and white], occasional printing of photographs.

Priority is low cost of usage and maximum value for money.

PC Configuration --

Intel Pentium D 915
Intel D10GCC2 -- ATi Xpress 200 chipset.
1GB X DDR 2 RAM
nVidia 9400GT.

Thanks in advance, Sire(s).

The HP Inkjet K209 should be good. Ideal for buyers who require a cost-efficient all-in-one printer that delivers brilliant prints. It takes 703 cartridge which is ok and ink supports iron on transfer, cost is just 400/- original. Daily duty cycle is approx 100 pages so more than enough.

As for as AIO printers, go for Epson TX121 @2835 or Epson Stylus - TX220 @5107 and Epson Office - ME 620F @6254 for their extra features. AFAIK all these printers don't have any substantial difference in print quality or speed.
If you need a single function printer for both document & photo printing, @ around Rs.5,000/- the Epson Stylus® Office T30 - Very good speed and better quality compared to the above AIO's. Further T30 uses 5 cartridges (2 Blacks & 3 Colors).
If you can go up to Rs.9.2K then there is the Epson Artisan 725 - a fantastic printer.

Low cost of usage can be achived only if you go CISS or refill-ables and all the above printers can be used with CISS or refill-ables.

when i was searching for my new printer for duplex printing and wifi printing ,

this is what i had found,

Canon PIXMA MG5220

it retails for around your price only.

only mistake i did was i was trying to get it from ebay.com where i had won it for 92 usd and sns shipping was costing some 170 usd.;)

i dint buy it as shipping was more than cost of gadget and indian deals were like 8000 and no warranty so no purchase.

cancelled it.:P

^^ Guys preferable is a HP all-in-one because of the fact that I'm not buying it from Bangalore [purchase is being made in Gandhinagar / Ahmedabad, Gujarat], also online shipping is also ruled out due to same.

I prefer the HP model suggested by 6-Pack Sire, as I prefer lower cost of operations [two ink tanks to cover in place of the four we have to replace in Canon and Epson]. But most of my friends say in photo-printing hp models fall short of their Canon and Epson counterparts.

I have time till wednesday so please keep pouring in suggestions. Cheers!!! Sire(s).

^ photo printing for home use is very costly. first you need that hp/kodak glossy photo paper. Its around 300 bucks for 10 A4 sheets i think.

then we need to use original ink only. tri colour ink has a disadvantage that if one color is predominantly used, like say photo has lots of blue in it (like sky), then your cyan will run out faster than red or yellow. Then the printer will mix red and yellow or just use either of the two in place of blue if it runs out in middle of printing a pic/ page.

photo printing is cheaper giving it to shops to print. most use ciss system with a HP printer (hi end ones), so dont know why people say that hp is not good in photo printing.

^^ Sire(s) have zeroed in on the HP 2050, how does that figure to all the printers mentioned here.

Why not Hp k-209...supposed to be one of the most economical printers made by HP...Costs 8k but comes for 6.3k through letsbuy.

^^ Its not me buying, its my father and it is all based on pricing ~6000/- [strictly] + availability in Gandhinagar.

Its specs are same as that of the 2060. The inks are costlier though. The small one costs 425, large one costs 935 for Black.

For colour its 610 and 1275 respectively. You can get this too if you like.

Cheaper than the 21/22 Black/colour combo that i have to use for my F4185 aio though. :(

mate...its 6.3k in Letsbuy and u save the trouble of wasting ur time going to gandhinagar and SP road:)

Gandhinagar, Gujurat Sire Google Maps, not Gandhinagar, Basvangudi, Bangalore. My father isn't exactly you know shipping friendly [recently my copy of the Witcher 2 got delayed and well it wasn't the most comfortable time].
