Private folders problems in winxp

Earlier I had set my documents in win xp as private and then formatted the c drive alone. My Documents is present in another drive which is ntfs. Now after I have reinstalled the os when i try to access my documents i get access denied. How can i open the folder again? I dont want to lose the data. all my important data is present in that folder.
 
Ok, archish try this, goto my computer/folder options/view/scroll down - use simple file sharing - take out the tick*apply. Now follow either step

1. Now goto your my documents folder right click/properties/goto security/sharing/tick the share this folder and apply, see if it helps else
OR
2. Now goto your my documents folder right click/properties/goto security/permissions and choose the current user and give full control to him, reboot if needed and then try accesing the file.

ofcourse you can go back to tools/folder options and tick the simple file sharing back anytime you want.
 
thanks dipdude but I googled and got the answer. All one needs to do is disable simple sharing option and then login in safe mode and change the security parameter of the folder. I find xp security silly sometimes.
