problam to install windows xp

hi erveryone i had windows xp service pack 1 and i want to change to xp pro sp 2 when i was on the blue scrren for the installing the windows came error massage it say:
setup failed to install the product catalogs.this is fatal error.the setup log files should contain more informatin.

after i press o.k

then it say:
the signature for windows xp professional setup is invalid.the error code is 800b0100
no signature was present in the subject.

i tried to get support from microsoft they say that i need to change folder that called catroot2 in c:/windows/system32
but the problem is that after i change the name of the folder the windows create a new one with the same name ''catroot2''
someone know what to do?

after doin that..

(Warning:This is the last resort available.Formatting will erase all data! ;))

Try formatting your C drive and install a fresh copy of XP SP2(from another working disc!)

(are u currently installing from a PRTeD disc?)

This will resolve your problem once and for all..
