Video Problem in playing 720p in my plasma LG PQ60

Hi guys,

I downloaded 720p and 1080p movies with high resolution on the net and tried playing it with pen drive in my plasma. But it failed saying " This file is not valid"

LG Electronics: Flatron Television- Model 42PQ60 Features

Above mentioned is the specifications of the plasma.
The resolution supported is 1024*768.
As the movies are of higher resolution than this , I would like to know if this is the reason for the problem.

Thanks

Why are movies higher than 720x480(720x576) resolution not supported ??

But pictures with very high resolution are supported.....

@OP, by pictures you mean digicam images or jpegs right?

Imo it would be next to impossible for many current media chips to play a > 2.1 MP resolution video which is Full HD resolution of 1920×1080.

even there are restrictions of the max width/height of jpegs too.

Ya... Am able to view all HD images (JPEG) in my plasma....

Is it that i cannot play movies with resolution greater than 1024*768 ????

It is because the tv is not capable of playing high resolution videos when played through USB as it doesn't have the processing power to handle such videos. But you can always purchase something like Xtreamer which you can connect to your TV using an HDMI cable and it will flawlessly play all your HD video files.
