problem sytem not turning on

Hi,
When i turn on my system running on Windows XP, after the windows loading screen, a black screen comes and gets stucks there and my User accounts screen doesn't come even after waiting for more than 15mins. i have to restart a dozen times to get rid of it. what would be the problem.? solutions plz..

I suspect PSU.Which one you have?Try reseating RAM and HDD cables.

How? why? What's psu got to do with blank screen?

@ OP: Boot via safe mode, under run, type msconfig and under general, select diagnostic startup. Then Click on services. Put the check mark on hide all microsoft services, and un check the stuff you want. Apply, ok and restart. Reply back once its done.

yes, try booting in safe mode. Looks like OS problem.

Definitely , it's an OS problem . Perform a fresh install instead of repairing.
