Problem transferring with Nikon D50

I've recently brought a Nikon D50 and transferred photos to my computer about 3 times, without problems.
Today I went to transfer, the transfer screen came up, but the "transfer" button wasn't an option for me to click. It also said "Now Enumerating..." but didn't do anything, even though I left it for several minutes.
Any clue as to what is going on? Any help would be appreciated.

most probably a driver conflict, try installing it again using find new hardware
also try to connect it to another USB port
