Yeah am using vista these day along with 3 linux. Now I have a bad habit of not shutting down the Window system and directly closing it and today it struck me. Whenever I select Boot Windows Vista it keeps on booting and then the system restart..

I tried Safe mode and all but to no avail.. Any suggestion would be helpful ..

Regards

At the time of booting press F8 and from the menu, select Previous known good configuration...This might help u out...Otherwise u hav to use Vista CD for recovery.

Also from the power options...Assign power button to shut down, if u forgot to shut down :bleh:

Run msconfig from the search line,

disable all recognisable startup programs which are not necessary,

put the system in diagnostic mode and reboot.

does the delay occur still?

^^ Try using Vista DVD...on booting there is a option for Recovery...Use that :)
