Problem with Creative Soundblaster 5.1 in Windows 7

does windows 7 has a problem with creative sound blaster 5.1????!!!! coz it nvr detects the pci in my computr.....!!!:huh: nd even the usual 2.1 channel sound that used 2 come out from my creative t6060 without the sound card has stopped coming out......!!!!!! urgently need your suggestions............:huh:

I think you need a driver which is compatible with windows 7. Though Windows 7 supports some old devices too, it will be better if you use the latest drivers. Is your sound card working properly with XP ?. You dint mention about your motherboard, etc . If, inspite of the latest drivers your card isnt detected, then install the card in a different slot. By this you can ensure that the PCi slot isnt malfunctioning.

Sound blaster 5.1 value does not have drivers for windows 7 as far as I know. Next time do you mind using a proper thread title rather than using such idiotic thread titles?
 
OMG, i googled and found working win 7 driver for my 10 yr old yamaha sound card. I dont know why creative isnt able to provide drivers for win 7.
 
There is no driver prob with sound blaster value card in Win7...i've used it perfectly earlier. Let the windows install and update drivers automatically thru Windows update...BUT...before it u need to disable onboard sound in bios and select PCI as sound source.
 
Windows 7 has drivers for Creative Sound Blaster but it has issues with 5.1 output. My friend used to get 2.1 but no surround sound.

But please specify ur detailed configuration including ur mobo etc to let us help you better.
 
I think ur operating system is corrupted. maybe few files were deleted. Bcaus your previous 2.1 sound is also not coming. Similar thing happened to me onesa nd thought there was hardware problem with sound card. Therefore, I formatted the partition and reinstalled my XP operating system. Which cured the problem.
