Problem with Gtalk ... HAnging with winamp.

here is the problem..

I have gtalk n winamp both running... but when i set my gtalk status to the current track it hangs n stops responding...
not the just for that time time but again after starting it it hangs..

It starts only after i close the winamp... n then i have to set the status to smthing else... coz if i start winamp with current track status it hangs again.
i tried reinstalling gtalk doesnt work..

BTW i havent had this problem before, it started just a few days back.

any ideas???
 
This is a known problem with gtalk and winamp 5.5x

create a blank winamp.m3u file in the winamp install dir and start both gtalk and winamp. this should solve the problem.

Gtalk only supports Windows Media player, iTunes and some other media player - I think winamp ironically.. if it is anything else, it hangs.

Any workaround for MediaMonkey users?

That's been happening to me as well. But in my case it was iTunes.
Not sure what's causing the problem. Used to happen on Vista x64. Never used GTalk since then!
