I am facing a strange problem with my bike (HH CBZ*).

Whenever i release the throttle there is a 'small blasting noise' like a firecracker comes from the silencer.

What could be the problem or reason?

I showed it to a hh mechanic and he said it could be becoz of carbon deposit on the piston and will go away with time.

I use unleaded petrol. Earlier used to use 'Speed'

Pls let me know what can be done.

It's callled misfiring. My bike suffers from the same problem.
Those chaps at TVS weren't able to resolve the issue.
Nothing to worry about though.

Reason & possible solutions :
How to get rid of misfiring on my Fiero F2? - Team-BHP

^^ yes. It looks like the misfiring starts on it own and sometimes vanishes also completly. should try to change the spark plug it now more than a year old but i dont use my bike so often. it runs like 500 km per month max. but the engine rpm is around 1500

if u are not running it regularly or running it for short runs, say less than 5 kms at a stretch the best thing to do is to start the bike and let it idle for 30 seconds to 1 minutes. that will heat the engine without putting stress on it and fix this problem. and yeah also try changing to high intensity spark plugs from champion. that helps

^^ OK. Thanks for the tip. I use my mostly for going to office which is 5.5 km away. So where can i find champion spark plugs in Delhi and how much do they cost?

get prelims done first...tank cleaning first (most likely prob)...carb cleaning second...
if not then garage third

yeah a simple solution wud be to get ur valve timings fixed again, its a common problem n continue using high octane fuels.:)
