Problem with outgoing messages in Hotmail

Hi,
A fortnight back, I got my comp updated, a new HDD was added with the system installed in it. I have windows xp 2000. Now, I am facing a problem with hotmail. Dont have a clue if both these things are related or not. While incoming messages are ok, all the outgoing messages ( new, replied or Fwds) are going blank. Only the subject line and attachments are visible to the recipient. Though its taking Rich-text status as "ON", I cant see the tool bar for it. Also, I am not able to put the the Rich-text status "off".
While composing a new mail, I get the error triangle at the left corner saying done even before I start writing anything!!
If I click on the Help, it comes in German language only and I cant change it as well !!
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the IE ver 6 (latest) but of no use. Is something missing which we had in prev system??
Any help?
Thanks in advance.

It's browser related issue only. Try alternate browser like Firefox, Mozilla or may be the ones which use the IE engine like Avant or Maxthon, thou i m unsure abt the text formatting support in alternate browsers, coz text formatting in Hotmail neva worked for me on Firefox.

Yes, None of other browsers support text formatting which I am quite used to. :( Also, hotmail doesn't support Firefox, so at present using FLock. But this is NOT a solution. I want to use rich text and background colours as well. Any other alternatives ???

cuckoo, click on the rich-text editor ON, by doing that it would change it too rich-text editor OFF, only then you would get the rich text tools bar.

That ON position is not on - it only signifies that you have to click on it, to set it to ON position. Also, first clear your cache & cookie's in IE & try.

Thnks dipdude. There's certainly something wrong with IE. What you are suggesting, I had tried them all earlier but w/o any results. Was even thinking of sending you a screen shot. Today, suddenly it started behaving nicely ;) and I could send messages either way-plain text and rich text. Only thing remaining is that now HElp is coming in Spanish language instead of earlier German and as before I can't change it !!! :D

Anywas, it doesn't bother me as long as I am able to use my mail-box.
