yest while wrkin on my pc...suddenly there was lot of noise frm the cpu and my display went off...still the cpu was running and was makin lot of noise. and i think the noise is cumin from my graphic card..not sure though(ati 5850 sapphire).

now wenever i switch on my pc...the cpu makes lot of noise and no display :((

me1 one know wht the prob is??
 
from which part of the CPU? or is from PSU? or is the FAN' air cutting or fan bearing sound? DO u have the BIOS display? Keyboard responds? Try opening the CABinet n feel..NOT by touch but by hearing

try cleaning up the cpu heatsink n plug it back...also check the psu if the noise is coming from there....remove your gpu n plug it to the onboard vga in see if some display pops up.........btw which psu r u using ?? ...
 
Checking your proccy fan, some wire might be in contact with it, so the noise. And as mentioned by others do check your PSU.
 
@iyengar there is no bios display and keyboard is also not responding........i strongly feel the noise is fron gpu

@ dark lord rules...will try it out and i am using corsair vx 550.
 
WTH!! i tried all the things said by the users and still it did not work...now after a day wen i switched on jus like that it started...dunno wht the problem is??? ne idea???
 
cpu never make noise its your Cpu Fan.. :)

check the CPU fan(running or not). ithink the noise is cuz the the fancable come in b/w the CPU FAN BLADES. Check all it properly n if it still coming tell me fro where it is coming.

may be its the PSU, if its Psu then check for some sparking in the PSU as it is usually the case.

Report back after all this.. ;)
 
what abt the cpu temp ?? ... monitor it when Ur pc runs the next time ... n also the gpu temp....if u can try a friends cpu heatsink....may be that's faulty ....
 
i am now thru mobile....my pc switched off again...wen i tried to switch it on...it started and then switched of again...it automatically started and started makin noise...which i feel is from gpu.

the cpu temp was 38 degrees....pc went off b4 checkin the gpu temp
 
finally got hold of my frnds graphic card and tried....everything was wrkin fine...so the problem was in graphic card(sapphire ati hd 5850).

ne1 knows wer the service centre for sapphire in mumbai is???
