Problem with Playing some Divx avi files on Philips 5106K

For some Divx avi files the video output on the TV screen stops after 3 sec, plays again for 3 sec, then stops again and the cycle continues.
But i am able to hear the audio output properly throughout.
Any suggestions ?????

Those must be packed Xvid files, Use the latest version of Gspot Codec appliance and see whether they are packed bit stream or not. If they are then you need to unpack them using mpeg modifier.

Thanks for the reply.. i will check that.

Does this mean that packed Xvid files dont play on DVD players or its just with 5106K?
The files will have jerky playback like the one you are experiencing now. Its a problem with all players with mtk chipset.

Blade i checked, my files are not Packed bitstream, but still they are not running on 5106K. Anything else which i can try??
Remcy, i am posting a screenie of gspot codec appliance with a tick mark of where the "packed bitstream" info will be shown.

Alternately you can also post a screenie of gspot codec appliance after having the file analysed with it.

My container shows the following details...

OpenDML (AVI v2.0)
Interleave: 1 vid frame (42 ms), preload=468
Audio frames: Aligned on interleaves
File Length Correct

Ok so its not packed bistream then. The other option could be that the file is corrupted or bad media. Btw post a screenie by alt+print screen and pasting it into ms paint. Then upload it to supload.com after converting it into jpg. That might help solve your query.

I dont think the file is corrupt or the media is bad. Its plays without any issues on all PCs. I use Samsung Plomax and Sony CDR.

Here is the snapshot.

Download the latest autogGK aka Auto Gordian Knot from http://www.autogk.me.uk/. Under the input file field select your file which has gmc/qpel. After doing so Press ctrl+f9 which should pop up a menu like so.

check the compatibility option for MTK/Sigma as circled in the image. Start re-encoding, the final output should have no problems playing on the 5106. :)

Can you tell how can i bring a Divx vid at 29 fps down to 23 fps?

I find my ps2 playing 23 fps divx perfectly. But the other video which is 29 fps kinda also plays smoothly mostly but sometimes kind holds for a second or two after every 30-40 secs and then repeats.

Here are the screen of both -

The one that holds -

The one that plays perfectly -

Thanks for any help.
