Problem with skype

My aunt uses Skype a lot. I recently reinstalled XP and the latest version of Skype.

Now, whenever she calls a contact and that contact recieves the call, all my aunt can hear is something that sounds like static. Why does that happen?
 
Try reinstalling Skype. Otherwise a microphone and audio driver reinstall seems like the only other option..

Also does this happen for one particular contact only or others too?
