problem with sutdown.exe file

I had deleted shutdown.exe (frm system32) deliberately, to know the concequences, still lappy shutdowns without any error...

any explanation ???

note:- if i try to shutdown using cmd (or making batch files), then only it is giving error...
 
^ that be because, regular windows shutdown uses some ddl file rather then the executable.

But in case of cmd line, the executable is invokes, but as it is not found, error pops up

Shutdown.exe is just a standalone tool that makes a call to the related Windows API to initiate the shutdown.

You cannot altogether prevent shuting down of you laptop by other means , just by deleting shutdown.exe. If you intention was to disable shutting of your laptop

You have to be smarter than that probably create an app/service which subscribes to shutdown notifications when it is initiated and then take steps to cancel it.
