Hello guyz
here i have this setup with me
Auzentech Xplosion 7.1 audio card
Logitech z5500 5.1 speaker system
Toslink optical cable
Now the problem m facing is that m not getting true sorrund sound i guess... by true sorround sound i mean that whn i run the speaker checkup utility that came with the audio card which let me check the sound through every sattelite unit one by one the sound is hearable from every speaker ( but the sound is little bit high in the clicked speaker... ) is that normal for a 5.1 setup to act like this.. i previously had those crappy intex 5.1 but those used to give that "sound only on the clicked one" effect ( i dont seem to know the correct terminology)

please assist me with the same
TIA

The configuration of the sound card is wrong. I have a similar setup with same speakers. Select the audio output of your sound card to Spdif as opposed to 96 or 44khz that its set to default. Once set, the sound will be coming from all speakers.

I still do not understand what you mean by that. I don't have such a thing happening. Neither with the Relatek I am using now, nor with the Xonar DX I was using earlier.

Try connecting using analog cables and than run the setup utility again. If there is a genuine problem with speakers vis-a-vis configuration than you should have the same result with analog speakers. As per my understanding I highly doubt that the speakers are kaput.
