Suppose i have a Ps2 game which i wanna keep backup of.

Now i searched the internet about burning PS2 games to a DVD.

I followed the instructions and used "DVD Decrypter". But when i insert the burned DVD in the PS2, nothing happens. The screen stays as it is...

Can anybody help???

I didn't get your question..

Do you want to make a back-up of a PS2 dvd OR Do you want to burn a backed up PS2 Disc image onto the DVD??

If its the latter, then If the ISO is in the correct format any burning software can burn the DVD (not only DVD Decrypter - Nero, Ashampoo anything!)

And yes those Discs can be played on the PS2. I own one and have checked them myself.

I wanna burn a backed up ISO to a DVD so that i can play it on my PS2.

Now, when i burn the ISO using DVD Decrypter and put the burned DVD in the PS2, nothing happens. The PS2 menu stays as it is as if no DVD has been inserted.

It doesn't even try to read the disc.

1. Burn on not more then 1x -2x speed

2. Burn on Good media , eg. sony DVD-R

3. After this it should work if not then either the ISO is corrupted or ur Mod Chip doesn't support it. I am Guessing its the first one !

I followed the instructions from the internet so i burnt the DVD at 2X speed.

The medium i used was "Moser Baer" rewritable DVD+RW.

Has it got anything to with rewritable DVD? I used rewritable DVD as i didn't want to waste any DVDs.

The ISO is fine i guess bcoz i have tested multiple ISOs.

My PS2 has a modchip so it plays all the modded games. The problem is coming only with the DVDs i burn.

Are there any settings to be done in "DVD Decrypter" which i am missing?

u dunt even need a good dvd ...

i currently burned 2-3 games on el cheapo lasertras dvds (11bucks)

they seem to be working perfectly...

the most easy to use softwear i found was alcohol direct straightforward method... just click on image burning wizard and choose the speed as 2.4x

should work fine...

A princo or edgetec also will solve the problem...I burned GOW2 on edgetec..workin fine....also....make sure the source is good like gamestorrents, or demonoid....

I have a couple of LG DVD+R lying around.

Will that work or do i have to buy DVD-R?

and "xXx", how much is ur GOW2? Will it fit on a single layer DVD?

I bought GOW2 but it didn't work (it was a dual layer one).

If GOW2 needs a dual layer DVD, which one shd i buy?

Thanks for ur help so far guyz...

I have the single layer one...also the rippers have downsampled the videos a bit but....the game looks gr8 even there....I am thinkin of Dlin the 7GB version & brun it on dual layer disc....maybe sometime l8r....i got it from gamestorrents.....u can chk it out....

ahem... i hope u all are talking abt downloading backups of games tht u legally owned before.... dun think takin abt piracy is legal on the forum

well taking a backup of legally owned backups is also not legal as it requires a modchip.

I just wanna know the correct DVD medium which i shd use to get good and working backups

You should use DVD-R and of good quality.

You can give your LG DVD+R a try but I would recommend buying the Sony DVD-R.

You can use any good medium for that that costs you somewhere around 20 bucks or more....seriously!!!

just burned the game (Burnout Dominator) with my LG DVD+R disc. It booted properly for the first time but with following problems:

1) In-game video was crappy and was stopping in-between.

2) The game menus were working fine but when i selected a track, then it displayed the car select menu but no buttons were working except the back button so i couldn't play.

Then i rebooted the PS2 and guess what the DVD stopped playing :(

I guess using a DVD-R should help...

will post results once i get a good DVD-R.

BTW Params7 which exact medium have u used for burning Ps2 games?
