Hello All,

I am using Asus P5N E-SLI motherboard from past 2 years.

Recently I am experiencing BIOS problems. The System is not booting properly. I get a long beep indicating that it failed to detect RAM. But when i shuffle the RAM for many times, it will start. Not sure the problems is with RAM slots.

Initially I was using Partriot Extreme 2X1 GB RAM (4-4-4-12). I replaced it with Transcend 2GB 800 Mhz RAM. But the problem still persists. Infact it is increasing day by day and I am not able to boot the system properly.

My Config is as follows,

Processor - Core2Duo E4500
Mother Board - Asus P5n E-SLI
RAM - Transcend 800Mhz 2GB
HDD - Seagate 1TB 7200.12 + Seagate 250 GB
Video Card - XFX 8800GT 512 MB Extreme
PSU - Cooler Master 600w Extreme

Kindly suggest.

Please clean the Ram pins using a rubber as i suspect the slots might have got dust due to which this problem might have occured. Some of my mobos have dobe this in the past but they were quite old and ur's is only 2 years. But Check just incase.

Thanks for ur reply..

I have done everything...even i cleaned up the Processor also.....but still the problem persists...I m feared to give it to the manufacturer...coz the problem is random...

Other than mainboard problem could also be due to a faulty SMPS or lose cards /connectors and sometime a stuck key on keyboard. Remove power and reset headers then boot system directly from MB by shorting power pins. Try another SMPS otherwise use Prime95 and OCCT torture tests (30 min at least)for stability of the components.
